Darren Walsh

Summary

My work seeks to understand and interrogate neuronal and synaptic dysfunction in preclinical models of autism and intellectual disability. To this end I use a combination of neurophysiology (primarily in vitro) and computational approaches. I am particularly interested in understanding how dysfunction at the cellular or synaptic level can contribute to the emergence of seizure activity, a catastrophic failure of functional brain networks.
